Judith Haire was born in the UK in 1955. She worked for several years, in estate agency and advertising before graduating  in Political Theory & Institutions at Sheffield University ( l981). She then returned to work in advertising before spending eleven years in the civil service.  At 37 her career was cut short when she experienced an acute psychotic episode.  This changed her life radically.  Since recovering she  has worked in the voluntary sector and continues to study part-time. 

Her first article was published in Mental Health Practice magazine in 2007 and Don't Mind Me  her first book was  published in 2008 (Chipmunkapublishing)  She has contributed to

Mental Health Publishing and Empowerment by Jason Pegler (Chipmunkapublishing) and Our Encounters With Madness, edited by Grant, Biley & Walker (PCCS Books)

She lives by the sea with her husband Ken and their cat Smudge
