Author Archive: Yamina Collins

A. Yamina Collins has wanted to write the Great-American-Novel since she was nine. She is now chronicling her journey as a self-published author through the treacherous waters of New York City – her favorite place in all the world.

She is a Christian who – while maintaining a standard in her writing that includes not cursing, or using explicit sexual imagery – loves to write about dark and quirky subjects…but with a comic flare. In fact, her first full length play at her beloved high school was, in fact, banned for production by school administrators and to some degree, she understands why.

A graduate of New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, she has also done reporting for New York Resident MagazineHamptons Resident Magazine, Manhattan Spirit newspaper Chelsea Clinton News and she has written health, fashion, beauty and features articles, as well as advertorials.

Her short stories have been published in the literary journals Anansiand Mosaic and her side hobby is acting.

Her literary blog Yamina Today includes guest blog posts from published writers and video blogging by Yamina Collins herself.

The Blueberry Miller Files, a collection of tales about the humor, awkwardness, and tragedy of the human condition, is her first published book. You can read parts of her book on Scribd, or buy it on Amazon.

Yamina has been featured on About.com for women in business.
