Reading With Rochelle Weinstein: May!

May 5, 2022 | By | Reply More

Hello Readers and Friends,

It’s May! Spring showers bloomed some beautiful flowers and books. Here’s my latest round-up from fabulous authors and friends to add to your list. For what it’s worth, I READ every single one of these stories that I share. They’re either recommended on-line, a go-to author, or shared by a friend. How do you get your book recommendations? Is there a go-to site? Is it word-of mouth? Let us know in the comments below.

The Wedding Veil by Kristy Woodson Harvey, Hardcover

There’s a reason she’s called the queen of southern fiction, and I just loved this book centered on a wedding veil—with a special connection to the Vanderbilt family—that passes through generations. Harvey’s first foray into historical fiction (and hopefully not her last) captures her signature grace and big heart. A huge shout out to her extensive research, especially on one of my favorite historical homes in Asheville, NC, the Biltmore Estate. Fans of Harvey will be delighted with this fresh read.

The Love of my Life by Rosie Walsh, Hardcover

Almost everything about Emma’s life with her husband Leo and young daughter Ruby is a lie. She loves them, but she has had to craft a carefully curated history. So when Leo stumbles on facts about his wife that just don’t add up, we’re led on a page-turning journey that will keep you reading late into the night. Who is Emma? And who is the other love of her life?

The Rewind by Allison Winn Scotch, NetGalley ARC

Allison Winn Scotch is a go-to author for me. Her books are whip-smart and always capture contemporary relationships and relevant themes. Pitched as When Harry Meets Sally meets The Hangover (I mean, who doesn’t want to read this blend?) the story covers exes Frankie and Ezra who wake up in bed together with wedding rings on their fingers. Now the estranged couple have to figure out how they got here all while asking the bigger question: did they make a mistake the first time around? Add to your TBR today. Releases November 1, 2022. Pre-order now.

Everything Must Go by Camille Pagan, NetGalley ARC

Another go-to author, Pagan writes relatable fiction about relationships and families. Moving and heartfelt, Everything Must Go tackles the story of sisters and second chances, changing relationships, and the challenges faced in caring for our elderly parents. Pagan’s smart, thoughtful writing will touch the most discerning readers. And when you’re done, check out her backlist. Every one of her stories is a winner.

Starry-Eyed Love by Helena Hunting, Paperback ARC

Remember in Grey’s Anatomy when Meredith slept with that guy at the bar who turned out to be her attending, Derek Shepard? Starry-Eyed Love begins with a similar trope, only London Sparks blows the handsome guy at the bar off, only to meet him again later as the man behind a million dollar deal for her company. Here is what happens when Fifty Shades of Grey meets Pretty Woman with a strong, inspiring woman at the helm. Readers will gobble this one up in one sitting. Releases May 10, 2022. Pre-order now.

When We Let Go by Rochelle B. Weinstein

I can’t really review my own work, but I’d be remiss in not sharing that my release is coming up this month. I hope you’ll add this one to your TBR—this one nearly wrecked me—but I’m here to say I survived and already finished book seven coming to you in Spring 2023. From a reviewer: “If you enjoyed Things You Save in a Fire, this would be the book for you. Weinstein gave me Katherine Center meets Kristin Hannah vibes.” Me. Blushing. Releases May 17, 2022. Pre-order now.

Run Rose Run by Dolly Parton and James Patterson, Audible

Having worked in the music industry for over a decade, music runs through my veins and has shaped much of my life. Therefore, a book featuring bestseller Patterson and music’s darling, Dolly Parton, was a sure thing. Fans of Patterson will enjoy the mystery surrounding Nashville’s newest star, while music enthusiasts will appreciate the glimpse inside this glamorous world from one of its biggest superstars. For the best experience, listen on Audible and hear from Dolly herself.

I hope you have enjoyed my recommendations over the last six months, and that at least one of these books was enjoyable for you. Don’t forget to share your comments below!
