Books Forward Launches Helpline To Assist Readers In Downloading Books
NEW ORLEANS, La. — With libraries and many bookstores closing physical locations for quarantine and Amazon suspending nonessential shipments, book lovers who prefer physical copies are faced with a dilemma of how to get their next great read. Not everyone is familiar with how to access ebooks and audiobooks, and figuring this out can be daunting especially while self-isolating due to COVID-19.
Books Forward has organized a free helpline to connect readers with the books they need, and to help support independent bookstores and libraries during closures. Readers can call (615) 212-8549 between 9 a.m and 5 p.m. CT, and browse other resources at booksforward.com/helpline.
“Our firm has championed independent bookstores and libraries for 20 years, and the Books Forward team wants to especially help readers engage with and support their local bookstores and libraries, even when their physical doors may be closed,” said company president Marissa DeCuir.
The helpline offers tools and phone support to:
- Walk readers step-by-step through the process of downloading ebooks and audiobooks.
- Troubleshoot downloads to a reader’s preferred e-reader, iPad, computer or phone.
- Offer reading recommendations and invite readers to join the #MovingForwardWithBooks 8-week reading challenge.
- Discover how to support independent bookstores and libraries from home.
