Embody Your Inner Goddess: A Guided Journey to Radical Wholeness – My Writing Odyssey
Writing a book has always been on my bucket list. As a voracious reader from a young age, the idea of creating my own literary world, where words flowed like rivers, captivated my imagination. But as life unfurled its unpredictable tapestry, I found myself dancing around the edges of this dream, never quite taking the plunge. I had a few ideas for books over the years, but none of them ever came to fruition. That is until the moment when Embody Your Inner Goddess came to me as if delivered by divine inspiration.
It was one of those serendipitous days, a time when life’s challenges were at their peak. I had a one-year-old baby who clung to me like a koala bear, a husband recovering from major surgery, and a business still struggling to regain its footing after the pandemic’s seismic disruptions. The odds seemed stacked against me, and a book, much less a daily writing practice, was a distant dream.
Yet, the idea for Embody Your Inner Goddess materialized in my mind during an ordinary walk with my daughter. It was as if the universe had decided that this was the moment, and it came as an instant download. I knew, with an unshakable certainty, the thesis and structure of the book. It was a call from within, a whisper of the divine that could not be ignored.
This, however, was not a book to be written or read in haste. Embody Your Inner Goddess was meant to be a deep and transformative journey for its readers, and I knew it required daily writing, reflections, and practices to guide them through the labyrinth of their inner selves. To accomplish this, I embarked on a meticulous planning process.
I started by diving deep into the chakra system, a powerful framework for understanding the subtle energies within our bodies. I brainstormed all the different aspects of each chakra that I wanted to cover in my book. These energy centers, from the root chakra to the crown chakra, provided a rich tapestry for the exploration of self, and I wanted to ensure that I left no stone unturned.
With my chakra insights in hand, I proceeded to create a detailed outline of the book. This outline would serve as the roadmap for my writing journey, and the masculine container for the sacred feminine to flow through. I knew that consistency was key, and so I crafted a writing plan that revolved around my daughter’s naptime. Writing every day during those precious moments, I was determined to bring my vision to life.
The commitment to my daily plan was unwavering. Sometimes, I found myself typing away on my phone while nursing my daughter. It was far from the ideal writing environment, but it was the only time I had to make my dream a reality. Perfection was no longer a concern; I had cast judgment and critique out the window. I embraced the process with an open heart and a willingness to let the words flow.
Every morning, I would choose a section from the outline, and then something magical would happen. My mind would effortlessly select a relevant life story that tied into the chosen chakra. It was as if the universe conspired to provide me with the perfect narratives to support the book’s message. Other times, I would meditate before writing, allowing myself to “channel” the work. The words would come from a place deep within, a place of wisdom that transcended my conscious mind.
However, delving into my own life story, as I needed to for this book, was not always easy. Some chapters required me to confront painful memories, and in those moments, I leaned on my support network. Conversations with my best friend and husband became essential tools for processing the emotions that resurfaced. Their guidance and encouragement were invaluable.
Once I had written all the sections, I turned to Scrivener, a versatile writing software, to organize the pieces into a linear structure using the chakra system as the foundation. Scrivener allowed me to easily shuffle and reorganize chapters as needed, ensuring a seamless and coherent flow throughout the book.
When the final draft was ready, I submitted it to my publisher, and the sense of accomplishment was profound. It was a journey of self-discovery, of bringing an idea to life against all odds, and of deep healing. The process of writing Embody Your Inner Goddess had been a cathartic experience for me, and I hoped that it would provoke a similar transformation in its readers.
The book itself is an invitation to the reader to embark on a daily journey of reflection and self-discovery, using the framework of the chakra system as a guide. Each day, readers are prompted to answer thought-provoking questions, engage in meaningful practices, and contemplate the wisdom within themselves. Embody Your Inner Goddess is not just a book; it’s a tool for healing, growth, and achieving a sense of radical wholeness.
My writing journey for Embody Your Inner Goddess was a testament to the power of determination and passion. Despite the challenging circumstances that surrounded me at the time, I persevered and brought my dream to life. The book’s journey mirrored my own, a process of healing, growth, and wholeness, and it is my hope that it serves as a guiding light for those who choose to embark on this transformative odyssey. So, if you have a dream in your heart, don’t let the circumstances deter you; sometimes, the most beautiful creations emerge from the unlikeliest of moments. Embrace your inner goddess and let her guide you on your own path to radical wholeness.
